Sword of Truth: Legend of the Seeker
This post was written by WadeTheFade

I cannot begin to hold in my excitement for The Sword of Truth series, The Legend of the Seeker that will premeire on November 1st to ABC. This series is based on the Sword of Truth books by Terry Goodkind. As one who is on the final book Confessor, my anticipation for this series could not be any more pegged at the top of anyone’s anticipation level.

From Sci-fi.com:

The weekly hourlong series follows Richard Cypher, a young man who makes his living leading people through dangerous forests, as he investigates the murder of his father and finds himself opposing Darken Rahl, the son of an evil wizard.
Goodkind’s popular novels, first published in the mid-’90s, span 11 volumes so far. Wizard’s First Rule will be shot in high-definition video.

Check out the promo after the break.

I think all of the videos so far look really cool good! They have a number of videos on their main site (legendoftheseeker.com)
I’m very hopeful for the show…I have my fingers crossed.

  2. Anthony van Winkle Says:

I dunno… the actors are just so much younger than I pictured Richard and Kahlan being from the books. I love the entire series, but the show looks like Hercules & Xena vs LotR.

  3. WadeTheFade Says:

I did picture Richard a little “beefier” and the confessor’s dress a lot different then what the previews were showing, but as long as the story is kept pretty close to what the books are I’m watching!

  4. KEZ Says:

This has the potential to be awesome, but I am so TIRED of overly-pretty actors and actresses (remember the series Beast Master?). I will definitely catch the premier of this though. Can’t believe I hadn’t heard about this before!

I haven’t read any of the books but I’ve heard they are great. Hopefully they aren’t a prereq for watching this show because I definitely want to watch this.

I wish someone would do Forgotten Realms, the Dark Elf stories as a series as well:)
